spectroscope is an independent open-source project. This website is a non-commercial project page; it sells nothing, runs no ads, and has no accounts to sign in to.
This site describes a pre-release project. The app screenshots on the landing page show spectro web replaying a scripted demo scenario that ships with the product, not live user data. As a service provider we are responsible for our own content on these pages under general law. This site is static and hosts nothing submitted by users, so there is no stored third-party information here for us to monitor. Obligations to remove or block the use of information under general law remain unaffected. Liability in this respect is only possible from the point in time at which a concrete infringement becomes known. Upon notification of such violations, we will remove the content in question without delay.
This site links to pages we do not control; whoever operates a linked page is responsible for its content. We checked each link when we added it and saw nothing unlawful. We do not monitor linked pages continuously; without a concrete indication of an infringement the law does not require that. If a linked page starts hosting something unlawful, tell us and we will remove the link promptly.
The spectroscope software is pre-release; its public repository opens with v0.1.0 under the MIT license. Once published, you may use it freely, including commercially, under the license terms. The texts, graphics, and brand assets on this site are copyrighted, and the spectroscope name and mark identify this project. Fork the software as much as you like; just do not ship your fork under this name or mark. Third-party components retain their respective licenses (Three.js, MIT).
spectroscope is designed and built by Christopher Ezell, with Claude (Anthropic) doing a lot of the heavy lifting across code, design and copy. The site is hand-built static files: no framework, no tracker. Type is set in Inter and JetBrains Mono. The hero animation runs on Three.js (MIT). Hosting by Cloudflare Workers. The product screenshots are real captures of spectro web replaying its bundled demo scenarios.
This site is intentionally boring for your data: no cookies of our own, no tracking, no analytics, no user accounts. Our host Cloudflare may set strictly technical cookies as part of its attack protection; we do not read or use them. The theme and particle preferences you pick are stored only in your browser's localStorage and never leave your device.
Cloudflare, Inc. serves this site as static files. When you load a page, Cloudflare processes connection data (such as your IP address) to deliver it and to fend off attacks; see Cloudflare's privacy policy. Cloudflare shows us aggregate, non-identifying request statistics; beyond that, we do not receive or store personal data from your visit.
